This panoramic tour of Mpumalanga brings you up-close-and-personal to South Africa’s stunning natural beauty. With your expert guide, travel along the breathtaking Blyde River Canyon – the third-largest canyon of its kind in the world – to visit a variety of iconic sights including God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, the Three Rondavels and Lisbon Falls. You’ll be treated to jaw-dropping views of dramatic landscapes filled with mountains, sheer cliffs, stunning rock formations and cascading waterfalls. You’ll travel by comfortable coach, stopping along the way to walk around and take photos.

You’ll be picked up from your Mpumalanga hotel in the morning for an all-day tour of the province's most beautiful natural attractions. This South African province means ‘the place where the sun rises’ in the local language -- a name as poetic as the scenery.

Traveling by coach, spend eight hours discovering the beauty of this less-developed South African province. Your guide will take you along the spectacular Blyde River Canyon, one of the most scenic routes in the region and the third-largest canyon of its kind in the world.

Visit the Bourke’s Luck Potholes, a set of natural rock formations featuring countless swirling pools of water caused by the Treur River plunging into the Blyde River. As you'll learn from your guide, these potholes were named after a gold digger, Tom Burke, who staked a claim nearby.

Next, make your way along the Drakensberg escarpment to God’s Window. You’ll immediately understand where this attraction gets its name as you stand on the lookout point, soaking up breathtaking panoramic views of the canyons, rock formations and lush forest-clad ravine filled with waterfalls. This majestic cliff plunges more than 2290 feet (700 meters) to the Lowveld!

Around midday you’ll make a stop for lunch (own expense) at Graskop or Pilgrim’s Rest, a small town and provincial heritage site. Your tour continues with visits to two amazing waterfalls, Lisbon Falls and Berlin Falls, and finally a visit to the Three Rondavels, three round mountains with slightly pointed tops. Pause at the lookout point here to learn about the significance of this iconic sight and to savor the incredible views. Afterwards, hop back in the coach and relax on the drive back to your hotel.

Spend a morning exploring Kruger National Park on a 6-hour game drive, led by a local ranger-guide! As the sun rises over Kruger’s wildlife-rich bush plains, admire colorful birds flying overhead and look out for members of Africa’s famous Big Five – elephants, Cape buffaloes, lions, leopards and rhinos – as well as zebras, giraffes and more. The 4x4 open-roof vehicle lends itself to picture-perfect panoramic views of the national park and its many animals as you travel around.

Leave your Mpumulanga lodge in the early morning, and travel deep into Kruger National Park, one of Africa’s largest expanses of unspoilt wilderness. After arriving at one of the park’s safari lodges, meet your guide – a professional ranger – and then hop inside your 4x4 vehicle to start your morning game drive around the famous park.

Sit back and relax as your guide drives, and look out for the animals that make up Africa’s much-lauded Big Five. The term ‘Big Five’ was coined by poachers who originally used it to refer to the most difficult animals to hunt on foot; today, it represents some of the most exciting animals to see on safari.

The park’s vibrant birdlife is often easier to spot on morning game drives, so keep an eye out for vultures, eagles, raptors and more as the birds circle overhead looking for prey. In between learning about the different species of birds and animals from your guide, enjoy several photo stops to soak up the raw natural beauty of the park. The scenery of Kruger National Park is world renowned and vistas over the sun-baked plains in the soft-morning light are incredible.

After exploring the park, your game drive finishes back at the safari lodge. After bidding your guide goodbye, hop back on board your coach and return to your lodge in Mpumulanga.
